US greenhouse gas emissions dropped by 1.9 per cent in 2023: Rhodium Group

Preliminary data shows a 1.9% decrease in US greenhouse gas emissions in 2023, mainly due to an 8% decline in the power sector. This decline follows two years of emissions growth during the post-pandemic economic recovery. The reduction is significant but falls short of the necessary strides to achieve the country's carbon footprint reduction goal.
